02 — How we work

A founder letter, not a sales deck.

Every engagement at Odei is run by one of us — Anika or Tomás — from the first Slack DM to the final Figma hand-off. Below is exactly what that looks like, in four chapters. No account managers, no offshore relay, no sudden swap of your senior designer in week six.

  1. 01

A 45-minute kickoff, on the calendar.

You meet one of the two founding partners directly — no business-development filter, no junior strategist with a discovery script. We spend the first call listening: what shipped, what didn't, what the board is going to ask in the next quarterly review. If we are not the right studio for the problem, we will say so and usually name two competitors who are.

  2. 02

A 7-day diagnostic, written, not decked.

Within a week of kickoff we send a written diagnostic: the strategic posture, the three creative territories we want to explore, the deliverables we propose, the team that will run it, and a fixed-fee quote. Average diagnostic is 14 pages. It is yours whether you hire us or not.

  3. 03

Build weeks. The same team, in the same room.

Once engaged, the team you met on day one is the team that ships. We work in 11-week arcs on average — versus the 9-to-14-month agency industry standard — because nobody is waiting on a relay handoff to a junior who joined the project last Tuesday. We share a Linear project with you from day one; you can see every Figma revision, every Lottie render, every Notion decision log.

  4. 04

    Launch, hand-off, and a 90-day check-in.

We deliver production-ready files: a Figma library with components, a Lottie and Rive motion pack, a written brand guidelines PDF, and a recorded Loom walkthrough. Ninety days after launch one of us emails to ask how it is performing — and we publish the results on this site, on-time rate and all.

03 — Since 2019, in numbers

Awards, on-time rate, and the client capital we have shipped alongside.

Six years of independent practice, measured honestly. None of these numbers animate on scroll — they sit as quiet editorial type, because the work, not the counter, is the proof.

04 — The partners

The two founding partners who run every engagement from kickoff to launch.

Founder-led is a word every studio uses. At Odei it is literal: Anika or Tomás is on the kickoff call, in the Figma file, and at the launch review. No exceptions, no exceptions-for-retainers.

Founding Partner, Brand & Identity

Anika Odei

Anika led brand identity at Pentagram New York for six years before founding Odei in 2019, with a client list that included Mastercard, the Yale School of Art and the United Nations Foundation. She has judged the ADC Annual Awards identity category since 2022 and her writing on type-led identity systems has appeared in Eye on Design and Print. At Odei she runs every brand identity and typography engagement personally, with a focus on Series A and B consumer companies preparing a public rebrand before a major raise.

Founding Partner, Product & Motion

Tomás Ribeiro

Tomás spent five years as a senior product designer at Instrument in Portland, where he shipped design systems for Nike, Google Cloud and the Whitney Museum. He co-founded Odei with Anika in 2019 and runs every product UI and motion engagement at the studio, with four in-house motion designers working natively in After Effects, Lottie and Rive. He is the engineering-side translator on most engagements — comfortable in a Linear sprint review, a Storybook pull request, or a brand strategy workshop on the same day.
